BKLN Story
We walk through cities paying no attention.
Headphones on. Coffee in hand.
Missing the layers of past events wrapped around us — some successful, some forgotten.
Beneath the noise are colours, images, and headlines.
Weathered, torn, pasted over, discarded by the rat race.
I break these fragments down and rebuild them into chaotic collages
that tell a new story.
Not to clean them up — but to let them live again, differently.
Each city leaves its own mark.
This work documents those differences, one place at a time.
BKLN is a touring backline technician with 15 years on the road. His work has taken him around the world - clubs, arenas, stadiums - setting up and tearing down shows for some of the biggest artists in music. Long days, constant movement, unfamiliar cities. Hotels that blur into one another.
The art started simply as a reason to leave the hotel room on days off. Walking unfamiliar streets, BLKN began collecting what most people ignore - torn posters, weathered paper, remnants of street communication that had already served their purpose.
Nothing current. Nothing intact. Nothing taken from other artists. Always respecting the unwritten rules of graffiti and street culture.
These fragments are broken down and rebuilt into layered collages on canvas. Not polished. Not cleaned up. Left rough on purpose. Each piece is made from material found in a single city, carrying its marks, pace, and contradictions.
Old art becomes new again - not by erasing where it came from, but by letting it live differently.
What began as a hobby has grown into something more.
BKLN’s work is about paying attention.
About slowing down.
About documenting place through what it leaves behind.
One city at a time.
